1968 Pediatric nursing started to vaccinate BCG in every infant and Ministry of Public Health had promoted this as national policy (Professor Lady Saree Jittinan)
BCG Vaccineis the only vaccine which prevent tuberculosis and has been using for more than 80 years.BCGwasinvented byAlbert Calmette and Calmille Guerin of Pasteur Institute in France by using Mycobacterium bovis from abscess on cow breast which was inseminate by Nocard and later on was called Nocard strain. This vaccine is called by the name of its inventor Bacillus Calmette Guerin or BCG.
